Greetings from the Trekkers!
The first day, the 8th, we left Columbus and headed North to Michigan. Our destination was Cabela's Outfitters. The place was huge, more of a natural history museum and showcase than a store.
While there, Bill decided what kind of rifle he wants to get. He discovered that actually holding them is a lot different than reading about them. The one he had originally wanted, the Ruger 77/22, was much heavier than expected. The one they had that he liked was a Savage bolt action 22. Now he is leaning back toward the Ruger, but a non-varmint model, which should be lighter.
The back of the store is a huge rock hill with a waterfall and trout streams. All around it are stuffed animals on display. It was very impressive. They also have a 65,000 gallon aquarium that we enjoyed, though it was too dark for pictures.
Here are a few pictures I took with my Visor to give you an idea of the size and feel of the store (I have more, but will limit myself on the emails). |
